Scholarship
Scholarship is nothing but a financial award given to the students for their further studies. Sometime scholarship programme may motivate the students to study hardly. Scholarships are awarded on different types of criteria and purposes of the sponsor of the award.  This scholarship program will provide an opportunity for merited student for further studies like doctoral degrees in development-related fields for mid career professionals from developing countries.  Types of Scholarships:
       There are various reasons for sponsoring scholarships, therefore there are many different types of scholarships are sponsored depending upon donor or sponsor. Below is some list of most commonly providing scholarships?
  • Merit-Based Scholarships:  Merit based scholarship may be the most common scholarship given to the student. These scholarships are awarded to an individual based on his/her academic, athletic, artistic or any other abilities of a student and who have prove or shown certain outstanding performance through different activities.
  • Ethnicity and religious based Scholarships:  This scholarship is also same as merit based scholarships but scholarship offered by any religious organizations such s mosques, churches, temple or any other religious institutions. These types of scholarships are not only for intelligent. Even this is also applicable for a needy person.  
  • Need-Based: This Need-based scholarship is given to an individual based on student's and his family's economic condition.  If anyone wants to apply this award, the applicant should have to fill the FAFSA which calculates the student's financial need.
     
  • Major-Specific scholarships: These scholarships are sponsored by some colleges or universities to students who have scored well in a certain field.
The higher education and researches play an important role in day today life. And the higher education also helps to improve new knowledge. There are two main categories of scholarships. They are:
Indian scholarship:
            The number of candidates who are enrolling the higher level education is very lesser than developed countries. As in developed countries more than 54% people enrolling for higher education but in India it is only up to 10%. The only the main reason behind this is Poverty.
Therefore the various governmental and non-governmental organizations have started to sponsoring scholarships in India and in abroad. As well as various foreign universities and international agencies also providing scholarships for Indian students so that they can pursue their higher education.
Abroad Scholarships:
             International scholarships are given to the students who have interested to continue their higher education in abroad.  This International scholarship scheme is the major financial aid to the students who are interested to pursue their higher education in Abroad.
